Role Overview
\n
Opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join a well-established engineering design consultancy with a strong pipeline of long-term work in the water, hydrogen, and nuclear sectors.
\n
Key Responsibilities
\n
\n - Provide specialist electrical input on projects and proposals, including drafting, reviewing, and approving engineering documents.
\n - Support the growth of junior engineers and graduates through guidance and mentoring.
\n - Deliver high-quality electrical engineering outputs that meet schedule, budget, and client expectations.
\n - Ensure all designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company or client requirements.
\n - Prepare specifications and requisitions for a wide range of electrical equipment, such as HV/LV switchboards, transformers, and UPS systems.

Requirements
\n
\n - Extensive electrical engineering experience in the nuclear sector, with strong knowledge of design, installation standards, and UK legislation.
\n - Skilled in CE marking compliance (ATEX, PED, LVD, Machinery, EMC) and nuclear plant installation requirements.
\n - Security cleared (or eligible), with expertise in risk management, HSE, and regulatory compliance.
\n - Degree-qualified in Electrical or Control Engineering; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or working towards professional registration.
