Job Description

Title: Clinical Psychologist

Location: Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital - Bromley (London)

Contract Length: 6 Months

Hours: Full-Time - 5 Days per Week (Monday to Friday)

Start Date: Immediate Start Available

Rate: Competitive Locum Rates (DOE)


Essential Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous experience working within inpatient mental health settings.
  • Experience working with complex mental health presentations.
  • Strong formulation, assessment, and therapeutic intervention skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of patients presenting with complex mental health conditions.
  • Develop psychological formulations to inform individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions on an individual and group basis.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Psychiatrists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Support Workers.
  • Provide psychological consultation and support to ward staff to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and risk management planning.
  • Participate in MDT meetings, ward rounds, CPA reviews, and discharge planning processes.
  • Support the development and delivery of psychologically informed care across the service.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Provide supervision and guidance where appropriate to Assistant Psychologists and other healthcare professionals.

  • Complex trauma presentations.
